Sixteen Local History Meetings

Local history is a far from forgotten subject in this part of Perthshire.

Our local history group – West Stormont Historical Society –  meets twice a month from mid September until mid May with no fewer than 16 meetings during this period.  Usually the second Monday of the month is a discussion Open Evening and the fourth Monday a speaker meeting.

All our meetings are open to the public and you are most welcome to come along.

Cabaret Evening

The  WSHS 2017-18 Programme of Activities as in previous years, offers a wide variety of  interesting talks.

The speaker meetings are at different venues throughout the WSHS area, which extends from Inveralmond to Birnam Hill, and Kinclaven to Harrietfield. On the other hand the important monthly Open Evenings usually are held in the church centre at Luncarty where it is “open house”, dealing with an immense cross-section of local history subject matter: queries are aired and quite often answered from unlikely sources, projects are planned, and research is reported on or put underway.
